Have you noticed that most health articles are concerned with stopping a disease that the person has – or attempting to prevent a disease – which is actually stopping disease before it happens. And it all sounds scary.
What about we take our attention away from just fighting disease and start working towards health to create a healthy body.
Do you want to stop gum disease and decay, or just have healthy teeth?
Do you want to stop an infection after one starts, or just have a healthy immune system that prevents infections from happening?
The list of things that a healthy body creates goes on and on.
The body runs on protein, carbohydrates and fats and 40 other nutrients that cannot be made in the body. These are 15 vitamins, 14 minerals, 10 amino acids & the essential fatty acids. The nutrients you need that cannot be made in the body all come from food.
What do you use to build a healthy body? Food. Sometimes if you can’t get enough of the nutrients you need from food, you might have to supplement. But you would do that with whole food supplements, not the artificial type that is made in a laboratory.
There are diets for overall health as well as diets for specific health issues. See below. But addressing an issue and then continuing to create health eliminates the need for special diets in the future.
You should eat for your health, not your taste buds.
Improve your diet & eat wisely – this is the best and least expensive form of “health insurance”. Building health is a lot more fun than trying to stop disease.
